Through its endowment, Trinity University has long committed resources in support of student scholarships.

Now, to continue growing access to the Trinity experience, the Board of Trustees has committed $25 Million from the endowment as a match for the creation of new, endowed scholarships or funding to existing scholarships.

This is the Trinity Commitment

THE TRINITY COMMITMENT

Access for Trinity Students

We will ensure that every student we choose can choose Trinity.

Our strength as an institution is connected directly to the strength of our students. They’re our foundation, and they’re our future. To elevate our national reputation and live true to our mission, we must keep a Trinity University liberal arts education accessible for all students who we admit.

We will compete for the best students.

Generosity counts when attracting talented, motivated students. Trinity’s peer institutions are providing increasingly generous scholarships, and we must do the same. While the University’s endowment has consistently fueled our trajectory, philanthropic scholarships will spur us to even greater heights.

We will elevate the Trinity campus experience for all students.

When Trinity enrolls students with wide-ranging perspectives and backgrounds, our entire community benefits. Donor-funded scholarships ensure each Trinity student can have an expansive learning experience—one that empowers students to embrace leadership opportunities and focus on their futures.

The Trinity Commitment is critical to our success as a national liberal arts university. Increasing the number of philanthropically funded undergraduate scholarships is Trinity’s foremost priority.

"We are grateful for the remarkable liberal arts education that we received at Trinity and the professional doors that it opened for us.  We feel that finances should not be an obstacle for those wishing to attend Trinity and unable to navigate the burden.  We are thrilled to pay it forward to a new generation of deserving students."

"Joanie and I have endowed our scholarships because believe that deserving students who are the first in their family to attend college should not be denied the alternative of a Trinity education merely because they cannot afford to pay the cost. We consider this an investment in human capital with an immeasurable return."

"When I learned of the Board of Trustees' decision to create the Trinity Commitment, I was overjoyed knowing that students will be able to live the Trinity experience that will prepare them for the future. Without financial aid I could not have attended Trinity, so I am thrilled to give back and be a part of the Trinity Commitment."

Giving to scholarships is the single, most impactful way you can help Trinity students and the University.

Your support in funding scholarships for our students will launch them into the world and enable them to fully immerse themselves in their communities.

Need-Based Aid

The total Cost of Attendance minus the Student Aid Index equals that student’s demonstrated financial need.

Need-based aid packages are built through a combination of:

  • Federal and State Grants, including Pell
  • Federal Loans
  • Federal Work Study
  • Donor-Funded and Endowment-Funded Scholarships

Merit Aid

Merit scholarships are a key competitive edge for Trinity, and merit rewards are often a deciding factor for top academic achievers.

Merit scholarships help Trinity attract the academically best and brightest students, regardless of their family circumstances. It is an opportunity to reward hard working students with the recognition of their success as they arrive at Trinity.
